Donuts are one of life's sweet pleasures. This recipe creates a delicious keto donut and combines it with one of our favorite flavors, browned butter!

Ingredients

For the donuts...

For the glaze...

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Mix all dry ingredients for the donuts together with a whisk in a mixing bowl
  3. Then thoroughly mix all of the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
  4. Grease a donut pan thoroughly with coconut oil spray
  5. Spoon into a donut pan; fill each cup approximately halfway, as the mixture will rise while baking
  6. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely before removing from pan; otherwise, they will fall apart when trying to remove them
  8. Heat the glaze ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a slow boil
  9. Stir frequently until the mixture begins to reduce and brown
  10. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes
  11. Either dip the donuts into the glaze and set aside to harden, or pour the glaze over the donuts in a storage container
  12. Let glaze cool completely before eating (if you can wait that long)
  13. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a wonderfully delicious donut!

Can I make these without a donut pan?

Keishly,

You could make them in small glass containers but they'd be more like a cake. Taste the same, but just not the same shape.

Great recipe! First time making donuts and it was a success! Very yummy, a little on the sweet side so definitely will use less sweetener next time! Thank you

Have you ever tried this with the “classic” (white) Lakanto monk fruit sweetener? It’s all I have, so wondering if I can just sub for the golden. Thank you!

Emily,

You can use the white Lakanto if you want. No issues!

Do you have the nutritional info for these? I just need to get a donut pan to make them!! :)

Janaica,

The nutritional content of these should be pretty close to (per glazed donut): 330 calories, 38.5g fat, 2g carbs, 4.5g protein. We originally weren't doing nutritional info for our recipes, but have been going back and working up the info. The recipe page has been updated with this information as well.

Can you substitute another sweetener for monk fruit as long as granulated.

Sher,

Probably so, but we would recommend testing a small amount of the sweetener in the donut batter/glaze first to make sure it has the taste you want. Unfortunately, not all granulated sweeteners bake and/or heat the same and some even taste bad when heated. Hope this helps!
